Global Connections Celebration with Dean Mark Hansen

Join fellow alumni and friends of the University of Chicago to welcome John Mark Hansen, Charles L. Hutchinson Distinguished Service Professor and dean of the Social Sciences Division, to Latin America.

At receptions in Sao Paulo and Santiago, Dean Hansen will share recent news from the University and discuss the University's strategic priorities. There will be ample time for Q&A.

In Buenos Aires, Dean Hansen will participate in a panel discussion together with Monica Ellen Seabra Hirst, professor of political science and international studies at Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, and Juan Gabriel Tokatlian, professor of international relations at Universidad de San Andres and Universidad Torcuato Di Tella. Drawing on the dean's recent research on American elections, and Professors Hirst and Tokatlian's insight into regional politics, panelists will explore the relationship between Latin America and the new administration of U.S. President Barack Obama.
